In one of the weirdest news items in a while, a German news site reports that a German woman named Claudia Wavra made a new world record for nonstop movie watching by watching 56 movies in a row (man, there is a record for everything). That equals 117 hours and 3 minutes of movie watching.
According to the site:
In order for the record to be valid, Wavra and the 69 other contestants who set out on this hallucinatory path with her were not allowed to take their eyes off the screen for longer than 10 seconds at a time. They were also allowed 10-minute breaks between movies.
The movie that finally made her get up out of her seat? “The Beach” with Leonardo DiCaprio.
And, of course, the question must be asked: can she actually remember any of the movies she saw? The answer: not really. Mavra says: “It’s all a big, colorful mass of things.” I’m sure her eye doctor is thrilled.
